This Site is Moving

I'm in the process of moving to a new site (http://www.leaguelineup.com/NDOS) which allows me to put midi file music on the site. Volume 4, which has a theme on Hollywood, is coming shortly.

More "Three Is A Magic Number"

We live in a 3-dimensional space, have meals 3 times a day, sleep a third of each day, work a third of each day and take a rest a third of each day.

We go through birth, growth and death.

In the world of multicolour, there are 3 primary colours.

There are three basic states: liquid, solid, and gas.

3 is the only integer between e and π(pi).

Hockey games have 3 periods.

A Hat Trick in sports is someone scoring 3 goals in a game.

3 is the number of strikes before the batter is out and the number of outs per side per inning in Baseball.

Babe Ruth wore jersey number 3.

The Great One is 99 which is 3 x 33.

You give 3 cheers for someone, but not two or four.

The starter for a race will say "One, two, three, go." He will not count to two or four.

The alphabet is referred to as the ABC's and in the common expression: “Something is as easy as ABC”; one does not speak of learning his AB's or his ABCD's.

Volume 3 is Done

(The contest was done about 3 weeks ago. I was too busy to announce the results before Christmas; and have been too relax since Christmas to post the results.)

The connection for Volume 3 is that all bands are 'trios'.

I deliberately put 'Follow You, Follow Me' as the first song because it was a great song to lead and also I thought the 'Genesis' that most of us know of was the one with Peter Gabriel & Steve Hackett and it was more than three members in the band then. (Of course, the name of the album also gives it away - '.... And Then There Were Three .....').

The 'three' winners are:
Scott is the new champion for Volume 3. He got the connection the same day he got the CD; but I heard he had help on the connection. He also got all the easy tunes named and has a full mark of 50 points.

Mick is the runner-up with 50 points also but he got the connection after Scott got it.

Fi-Mare came in at Third with 45 points. They also got the connection after several trials and their efforts (see previous posting) should be commended.

Honourable mention is Bob S. who got the connection fairly quickly, a few days after Volume 3 went public.

Laurie, who was the champion of Volume 2, got the connection after “Three is a Magic Number” was posted; so it didn’t count.

To everyone who has submitted answers, thank you for playing!

Volume 3 was a break for you. We will go back to the usual format in Volume 4 and the connections will not be as easy!
